There are often no "best" things, such as filesystems, window managers or Linux distributions. You pick the one you find most suitable/appealing and do not rely on people's "recommendation" as an excuse.

If you want a stable machine that is easy to setup and relatively problem free, DO NOT use a beta OS! If you are VERY comfortable with Linux/SuSE and wish to help the developers by submitting bug reports, don't mind instability, and understand that many features may not work correctly or at all, then go for it.
