This deck is built like a tank (to use an too often heard metaphor regarding tape decks) and it is working well. It is a 2 track deck which is designed for heavy use, like in studios and broadcast facilities. It is world famous for that.<\/p>\n<p>But when I received it<em> &#8211; actually I fetched it from way across Holland &#8211;<\/em> I immediately noticed three small things wrong with it:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the VU meter lights were not working<\/li>\n<li>the left tape guide roller bearing was making noise<\/li>\n<li>and the infrared tape sensor incorrectly identified tape as being leader tape and switches off. This happens\u00a0with some tapes that are apparently too thin \ud83d\ude42<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So I ordered and received 2 spare bulbs (from a webshop) and one new roller bearing (from ebay Germany) the frontplate knobs<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Then I removed the face plate all together.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Get the meters and the controls out<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Remove old and insert new bulb<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714;font-size: 1rem\">Testing&#8230;.yes! Part 1 is done!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Remove the bits around the heads.<br \/>\nAlso a good time to do some cleaning.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Remove the old roller bearing<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And put the new one in place.
